Christian Christensen is Associate Professor and Director of the HumanIT (Human Values of Information Technology) research platform at Karlstad University, Sweden. Christensens research focuses largely upon social media, citizenship, conflict and global politics, and his most recent work has looked at the expanding use of YouTube and social networking media in the representation of war. He is the editor/co-editor of forthcoming volumes entitled, Human IT: Technology in Social Context (Cambridge Scholars Publishing) and Online Territories: Mediated Practice and Social Space (Peter Lang), and has been published in international, peer-reviewed journals such as the Harvard International Journal of Press/Politics, Global Media and Communication, Media, War & Conflict, Studies in Documentary Film, Popular Communication: International Journal of Media and Culture and the British Journalism Review.
